Statement

My recent interest has been in examining the role of illusion in consideration of the cybernetic epistemological situation of our post-photoshop and CGI saturated culture. In a theoretical concatenation of the capacities of material and light to be both manifestly itself and other, these recent works aspire to simultaneous world creation and world portrayal; a tautology of lamina relating the dialectic of fiction in painting with that same dialectic in the virtual world.
